We are a coalition of health and fitness professionals dedicated to revitalizing the culture of health and fitness.
Patrick Mustain, MPH, MA, CPT studied kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, public health at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, and medical and science journalism at the University of North Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communication. After a stint at the Yale Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity, and continuing work as a freelance science writer and multimedia producer, in 2015 he began a position as a communications manager at the ocean conservation organization Oceana. He is also a regular contributor to Scientific American’s Food Matters blog.
Patrick started his personal training and fitness career after catching the fitness bug in the U.S. Navy. He spent more than a decade asking the question: “How can we make it easier for all people to live healthier lives?” This is the best answer he’s come up with so far. He likes climbing on things, running around outside, and sandwiches.
Kevin C. Moore’s road to NBE wasn’t direct, beginning in 2004 with a career in biochemistry. Ill-suited for the confines of a laboratory, Kevin used fitness as a kind of loophole in the pursuit of his childhood dream of being a scientist.
After nearly a decade working as a personal trainer, Pilates instructor and rehab specialist, Kevin founded Hong Kong-based Reembody, an online resource for education on kinesiology and exercise psychology.
Through Reembody, Kevin works with people around the world to manage and prevent injuries while increasing strength and sports performance. He has high hopes that, what Reembody does for individuals, NBE can do for a whole culture.
New Body Ethic would not have been possible without the early support of dedicated fitness professionals that saw its potential and immediately signed on, before it was even a thing. Jason, Marannie, and Megan provided invaluable feedback as NBE was being developed and were central to its final iteration. We hope you’ll check out their websites in the links below. Thanks guys!
